Principal's Bio

Mrs. Wendy M. Duvall

Mrs. Wendy M. Duvall has 22 years of educational experience. The last ten of those years has been sitting at the helm of Hopkinsville Middle School as the principal.  Mrs. Duvall has a Bachelor of Science from Austin Peay State University, a Master of Education degree from Trevecca Nazarene University, a Specialist in Education from Murray State University, and is currently working on her Instructional Systems Design Doctorate degree from the University of Kentucky.

Through her educational career, Mrs. Duvall has been an elementary, middle, and high school teacher in the areas of mathematics and science.  She has also served as a Curriculum Specialist at the high school level.

Mrs. Duvall has been involved in many professional memberships, including Kentucky Association of School Administrators, Kentucky Education Association, and for the past three years, she has sat on the Kentucky Regional Foster Care Review Board.

Mrs. Duvall believes student growth is the most important aspect of learning. All students can learn and grow in different ways, and at different rates.  She believes with hard work, dedication, and perseverance all students can grow into educated young adults. Visibility, team work, and continuously encouraging students to push themselves academically, helps  Hopkinsville Middle School create a school culture where students can grow and reach their full potential.

Mrs. Duvall states that the best part of her job is working with and mentoring students.  She constantly reminds her faculty and staff to do what is best for children, even if it is not popular. Staying positive, maintaining communication with parents, faculty, students, and the community helps keep Hopkinsville Middle School a place where parents want to send their children in Christian County, Kentucky.

Mrs. Duvall looks forward to continuing her educational career at Hopkinsville Middle School, home of the TIGERS!
